Denis Eder
Mental Health Counselor-Limited Permit
“My approach to therapy is that the client is the expert in their own life and I’m there to listen to them and help them explore themselves and their experiences. I believe that allowing clients the space and time to explore is extremely important, especially considering how fast paced life often is. When a person has time to explore themselves and their feelings in a safe environment, they have more room to process their feelings and understand themselves and the world around them on a deeper level. This time to process emotions allows clients to grow and learn what they may need moving forward in their lives. I am committed to helping clients develop the skills they need to build themselves up and attain the goals that are important to them. Some examples of such skills include emotional regulation strategies, communication skills, boundary setting skills, as well as many others depending on what clients feel is important to work on for their growth and progress. As a counselor I think it is important to be compassionate, empathetic, kind, and caring. I also believe that to help clients grow they need a positive environment where they are encouraged and celebrated for who they are. Overall, my goal as a counselor is to meet clients where they’re at and work with them to achieve their goals while providing them with a safe space where they feel truly acknowledged and heard.”
